Lichen Memory is a sculpture that is inspired by the quiet, layered memories held within lichen. This fascinating symbiotic ecosystem consists of a fungus and phototrophic partners, usually algae or cyanobacteria. As an ancient collaboration living through centuries, its slow growth and resilience make it a living witness to the shifting landscapes it inhabits – holding stories of time, survival, change and deep interconnection. This work reflects on lichen as a keeper of hidden histories, a natural archive of moments that stretch far beyond human time.
