This work I created during my stay at the Art Like Salt residency on a remote island in South Korea. Over a period of one month, I collected various clay pigments from all over the island. The sculpture visualizes the soil investigation and the diverse color spectrum of this specific place. Colour shades of Jeungdo was part of my solo exhibition „Reflections on Ephemeral Presence“. The exhibition consists of installations and multimedia works that emphasize the dynamic and ephemeral state of landscapes and nature on the island Jeungdo. Many elements that comprise the landscape of this island are exposed to a constant state of change, such as the tidal forces. Besides that the region of Jeungdo is known for agriculture and sea salt production.
