Tracing the Ground is also an artistic exploration of the soil on Jeungdo island in South Korea and connects to the work Colour Shades of Jeungdo. In this work I have scanned the ground which I investigated for clay. The work is a momentary capture and shows not only the natural state of the earth itself, but also human interactions, such as traces of my hands in the soil or imprints of a car tyre. The work was also part of the exhibition „Reflections on Ephemeral Presence“.
