The performance and installation Clay-Lab demonstrates all steps of the time consuming process of refining raw clay and generates a place identity by exploring different excavation sites in Gothenburg, Sweden. After the clay is dug out of the topsoil, it must be dried and soaked in water. The material is then sieved and hung with the help of a textile in order to filter out unnecessary water by gravity before it can finally be used. The project was a collaboration with Irvandy Syafruddin as part of our artist collective „Resource Gallery“. The installation was exhibited during the Craft Days at Konstepedemin in Gothenburg, Sweden.
