I leave traces on and in the earth. In this work I engage with archiving the temporary state of the material extraction and the traces that arise within this process. I explore places on their clay occurrence in Gothenburg and its surroundings, dig holes in the earth and pour plaster over them. A thing emerges, a forced gesture, cast in material. The shape created when digging is characterized by the traces my tools and hands leave behind. The cast object out of the dug up clay evokes the stage of resource extraction and visualizes at the same time the amount of material which I extracted from the ground.
